There was no schema, a broken robots.txt, redirect chains, no internal linking strategy, and content that didn’t match how people actually searched.

Four months later: 9,020+ total organic clicks, 340,000+ impressions, a 229% year-over-year click increase, and the brand appearing as the #1 recommendation in Google’s AI Mode and ChatGPT when anyone searches for late-night alcohol delivery in Kathmandu. Project Background — What is Darumandu?

Darumandu is Nepal’s trusted 24-hour online liquor delivery service, operating across the Kathmandu Valley with domestic and imported spirits — whisky, beer, wine, vodka, and rum. The business runs around the clock with a transparent late-night service fee, positioning itself as the most reliable option for consumers needing alcohol delivered at any hour.

The Nepali market for online liquor delivery is nascent but growing fast. Search demand spikes around late-night hours, festivals, and social occasions. The core SEO opportunity: capture this demand before competitors could establish domain authority.

Primary objectives set at the start of the engagement:

Keyword Clustering & Search Intent Mapping

The foundation of the entire strategy was a cluster-based keyword architecture — not just a flat list of keywords, but a structured grouping by search intent that maps every keyword to a specific page type and content goal. Three intent layers were identified:

Sitemap Restructuring

URL Structure Optimisation

Legacy URLs were generic and keyword-free. Every primary URL was restructured to a keyword-inclusive, human-readable format:

Core Web Vitals — Homepage Cluster

The homepage was optimised to pass Google’s Core Web Vitals thresholds. Key improvements: LCP via image compression and lazy loading; CLS by reserving layout space for above-the-fold images; INP via script deferral and main-thread unblocking. All three moved from “Needs Improvement” to “Good” within three weeks.

On-Page SEO & Semantic Content Strategy

All primary landing pages were rewritten with a semantic content approach — each page targeting a primary keyword cluster while incorporating semantically related terms naturally in the copy, allowing Google to understand topical relevance without keyword stuffing.

Product category pages (whisky, vodka, rum, beer, wine) served both informational and transactional intent: brand descriptions alongside clear order CTAs. Every page either converted or built trust that contributed to conversion.

Structured Data & Schema Markup

Comprehensive schema markup was the single biggest driver of Darumandu’s AI Mode and LLM visibility. Structured data makes content machine-readable — exactly what Google’s AI Overview extraction algorithm and LLM training pipelines are optimised to process.

LocalBusiness Schema

A full LocalBusiness schema was added to the homepage including businessName, address (Kathmandu), openingHours (24/7), telephone, priceRange, and areaServed (Kathmandu Valley). This directly contributed to Darumandu’s appearance in Google Maps panels and AI-generated local summaries.

Product Schema

Every product page received Product schema with offers (price in NPR, availability: InStock) and aggregateRating. This improved product visibility in Google Shopping and rich results — and the 5.0 star rating displayed in ChatGPT came directly from this structured data.

BreadcrumbList Schema

BreadcrumbList schema was implemented sitewide, enabling breadcrumb SERP features and reducing duplicate content signals by clearly establishing the canonical page at each hierarchy level.
